Working with the students and teachers at Carey Ridge is a pleasure! During my thirty-year career as an educator, I taught fourth grade at CRES for eighteen years before becoming the building’s instructional coach. I majored in elementary education at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and completed my masters degree at Ball State University with an endorsement in gifted and talented education. I have been honored to serve as an Armstrong Educator at Indiana University, been selected as an Outstanding Cooperating Teacher by Butler University, and was named as a Milken National Educator in 2006.
In addition to receiving specialized training in student-centered coaching, I had an opportunity to attend the Reading Institute at Columbia University this past summer. On a daily basis, I join the CRES staff to provide professional development, work alongside teachers in formal coaching cycles, and offer support in other ways to promote continuous learning. However, the best part of each day is the many opportunities I have to interact with our amazing students.
