Tutoring can benefit every student! Tutoring is
beneficial for students who are struggling for a variety
of reasons, and it can also be for students who are
needing to be challenged more outside of school. The
benefits are endless but some important ones to note

Below we have shared MORE ways your student can connect, learn, and grow!  

  • Helping Hands is a tutoring program that works with the Westfield Youth Assistance Program
  • WHO: Over 50 Westfield High School students volunteer to tutor students
  • WHERE: Oak Trace, Washington Woods, Carey Ridge, and Monon Trail Elementary
  • WHEN: Once a week for 45 minutes from 3:45 – 4:30, begins at the end of September/beginning of October
  • WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:  Students are selected by teachers or administration after being identified as needing extra help in either academics or social skills.
  • Westfield Middle School Extended Study Hours
  • WHAT:  A WMS teacher supervises as students study, research, or complete homework.
  • WHO:  WMS students
  • WHERE:  Westfield Middle School
  • WHEN:  WMS Media Center- Tuesday through Thursday, 6-7:30 PM.
  • Wednesday Nights at WHS The following are tutoring and enrichment programs organized by Joel Bruns, Innovation Specialist at Westfield High School.
    WHAT: Tutoring for students who need assistance or enrichment in school
  • WHO: Tutors include adult staff members and National Honor Society students
  • WHERE: Westfield High School
    WHEN: 1st and 3rd Wednesday nights, starting in September
  • WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: For all grade levels and for anyone needing tutoring
    WHAT: Enrichment opportunity for students to work with
    computer engineers to design apps for local businesses
  • WHO: Computer Engineers
  • WHERE: Westfield High School
  • WHEN: 2nd Wednesday of each month, starting in September
  • WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: For students in grades 7-12 who have some experience or interest in Computer Science
    WHAT: Enrichment opportunity for students and their families to come and build things in The Idea Farm (past projects have been an automated Rock, Paper, Scissors game with a BBC Micro-bit computer, designing and 3D printing a personalized key chain, laser engraving wood, and other fun projects!)
  • WHO: Joel Bruns, Adult Staff Members
  • WHERE: Westfield High School
  • WHEN: 4th Wednesday of each month, starting in September
  • WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: For any family in the district; Parents MUST attend with their children
